Meet Ashley E. Budrow, MS CCC-SLP
Welcome to Euphagia!
I’m Ashley E. Budrow, a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) holding a Master of Science degree and the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). For over 20 years, I have been passionately committed to helping adults in Pinellas County overcome the challenges of dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) and regain the joy of eating safely and comfortably.
I understand the significant impact that swallowing difficulties can have on your quality of life, affecting not only nutrition and hydration but also social interactions and overall well-being. That’s why I founded Euphagia: Intensive Dysphagia Therapy – to provide expert, personalized care in the familiar and comfortable setting of your own home, right here in Pinellas County.
My Expertise and Experience
My career has been exclusively focused on the diagnosis and treatment of adult dysphagia, allowing me to develop a deep understanding of the complexities of swallowing disorders. I have extensive experience working with individuals facing swallowing difficulties due to a variety of underlying conditions, including:
Neurological Conditions: Stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, and other neurological disorders.
Post-Surgical Issues: Swallowing problems following various surgical procedures.
Aging-Related Changes: Presbyphagia, the natural changes in swallowing that can occur with age.
Respiratory Conditions: Impact of COPD and other respiratory illnesses on swallowing.
Head and Neck Cancer: Specialized expertise in managing the unique swallowing challenges resulting from head and neck cancer diagnosis and treatment (surgery, radiation, chemotherapy). This is an area where I have developed significant depth of knowledge and successful treatment strategies over the years.
Other Medical Complexities: Addressing dysphagia related to various other medical conditions.
My Philosophy – Personalized and In-Home Care
At Euphagia, I believe that effective therapy is built on a foundation of understanding, collaboration, and personalized care. I take the time to listen to your individual concerns, thoroughly assess your swallowing function, and develop a treatment plan that is specifically tailored to your unique needs, goals, and lifestyle.
Providing therapy in your home environment offers several key advantages:
Comfort and Convenience: You receive expert care in a familiar and relaxed setting.
Real-Life Context: Therapy can be directly applied to your everyday eating and drinking routines.
Caregiver Involvement: Facilitates the active participation of family members or caregivers in the therapy process.
Reduced Stress: Eliminates the need for travel to outpatient clinics.
